====== General Settings =====

The following data sheet is provided to provide user-manageable basic information about the devices:

**Name**

The "alias" name of the device. You can enter any text, but since this will appear in the Tools menu and in the space bar, it is a good idea to give a short and clear name, e.g. in the case of a device fitted to vehicles, the registration number of the vehicle or, in the case of a person, its name. This way, we can immediately know what or who the system is showing at a particular point on the map.

**Identifier**

The "official" identifier of the device. If you have many devices, it is a good idea to provide them with your own ID (or use their factory, inventory number), regardless of who uses it and where it is installed. It is mandatory and must be unique among our tools.

**Show on map**

Whether or not the name should appear on the map next to the device icon.

**Display with group color**

If we display the name of the device on the map, the standard should be in black text on a white background or in the color of the group in which the device is classified.
