~~ NOTOC ~~
====== Creating and using route plans ======
The route plan specifies the route from which you can get from a given starting point to a specified destination. The calculated route is influenced by the mode / mode of transport we choose and the road restrictions we use. The result of the planning is the route drawn on the map and its data: affected points, changes of direction, distance.and time.
To plan routes, use the Planning menu item in the System menu. In the route planning panel that appears, you can set planning parameters, view textual information about the planned route, and perform some actions.
The route planning service has a dual function:
* on the one hand, it allows general route planning (similar to, for example, Google 's route planner), and
* integrates into the tracking system at several points, cooperates with it.
**Opportunities**
When planning a route, we come across roughly the same options as for other programs with a similar purpose:
* you can specify the starting and end points,
* you can select waypoints,
* select a means of transport / mode, and
* restrictions may be applied (eg avoidance of toll roads).
Itineraries can be shared with others or saved for later reuse. Saved routes can be organized into groups.
**Ways to create an Itinerary**
* Itinerary between a selected device and another point on the map
* Itinerary between any points
If you choose any of the above options, you can use the map and the route planning panel functions together to create a route plan.
* You can add destination points from the map to the plan.
* In the panel you can also add points or set planning restrictions (means of transport, types of routes to avoid).
* Detailed details of the completed route plan can also be viewed in the panel.
* Route sharing and saving features are available from the panel.
* Saved directions appear in the panel and can be retrieved from there.
The descriptive data of the completed route plan can be viewed in various details. The data provides addresses, coordinates, time, distance, and route guidance information for the entire route or parts of it. The planned route is shown on the map with the start, stop and end points.
**Connection to the tracking system**
The connection to the tracking system appears in several levels and ways:
* route plans can be shared with others (eg drivers) or saved for later re-use,
* you can create a route plan from a selected POI or device to a specific point on the map,
* the position of a selected map point, POI or device can be added to the route plan.
**Parts of the route planner**
The route planning panel consists of three main parts:
* Enter route points and parameters
* Create route plan (s)
* Share and save directions
In the first we give the conditions that fundamentally influence the planning, in the second we get the calculated routes, in the third we can share routes with others, save routes, and retrieve our previously created route plans (if we have saved them before).
