====== Importing POIs ======

Importing POIs (System / POI submenu / Import) allows you to add or change POIs in bulk instead of adding or modifying them one by one. We recommend that you use this feature only for users who are familiar with the computer, the tracking system, and the Excel spreadsheet.

When importing POIs, note the following:
  * upload a file with the appropriate structure and format, or
  * have all the necessary information about the POIs in the file and be correct.

For security reasons, importing POIs is a multi-step process that requires the following:
  * Upload and verify a user-generated Excel spreadsheet file to be imported.
  * Creating and returning an error list to the user in case of errors or deficiencies.
  * Import POIs for a faultless file.

===== The process of importing POIs =====

  - **Compile a table of POIs to import**
    * Table type: Excel, .xls format. It is a good idea to use an import template downloaded from the system, see Downloading a template for instructions.
    * To compile the contents of the table, see The structure and content of the POI import table. \\
  - **First step**
    * the completed Excel spreadsheet (upload workbook)
    * start the import function.
    * upload Excel file.
    * after upload, the system checks the format of the file, the structure of the table and the existence of critical data. At the end of the check, if errors are found, it indicates this, compiles a list of errors and offers them for download. After repair, the process can be restarted.
  - **Second step**
    * if the first stage is completed successfully, in the second stage the system checks the Address and Position (latitude, longitude coordinates) data in the POI data, based on their correlations and correctness. Because this can take longer, the process takes place in the background, and the user receives an email notification of the result (and a list of errors, if any).
    * If the second stage is successful, the email contains a link that can be clicked to continue the import process with the third stage. \\
  - **Third step**
    * request some additional parameters and perform the import.
